Anglo-American University, the oldest private university in the Czech Republic, has been educating global achievers from around the world since its founding in 1990. Situated in the beautifully restored Thurn-Taxis Palace in Prague’s historic Malá Strana, AAU offers 17 undergraduate and graduate programs in English to students from over 70 countries across the world.
With an average of just 15 students per class, AAU places an emphasis on small, interactive classes and focuses on critical and creative thinking, effective communication, and flexibility. AAU also cooperates with local and international organizations to enrich students’ learning experiences outside of the classroom. The quality of teaching is guaranteed by the personalized approach we take with each student along with our rigorous international accreditations.
AAU is one of a few universities globally to have received accreditation from the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), an American accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Most of AAU’s programs are also accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. Exceptions are the Law programs and the Chapman MBA program, which are offered in cooperation with international partners.
As a not-for-profit university, AAU continually invests in developing the potential of our community and improving our educational models. We work together with our diverse student body to cultivate a sense of ethical consciousness and social responsibility towards each other and the world.
